Apple has reportedly delayed the development of their smart glasses and focused on the development of augmented reality headsets. The future of smart glasses may be unknown but there are rumors that Apple is developing a smart screen specifically for controlling internet of things devices in the home.
This smart screen will be based on an affordable version of the iPad that can be mounted on the wall and magnetically attached to other poles. Through HomeKit technology, various Internet of Things devices such as speakers, TVs, lights, closed-circuit cameras and more can be controlled.
It will be the same product as the Google Nest Hub which can also be used as a video calling device. It is very likely that this Apple device will be more like the Google Pixel Tablet that was shown last year with a magnetic pole with a removable screen to be used as a regular tablet.
Rumors of Apple wanting to develop a smart screen with built-in speakers have been heard since 2021. With this market now dominated by Apple and Amazon, Apple needs devices with similar capabilities for their ecosystem.
