Tengku Zafrul, the Minister of International Trade and Industry has now stated that he has met with Intel, and at the same time, the giant technology company will invest in the Malaysian market.
Intel said it will invest RM30 billion in the semiconductor industry in Malaysia, while generating more than 9,000 jobs for local people. This investment is expected to focus on expanding Intel's operations in Penang and also Kulim.
For information, Malaysia is one of Intel's main focuses, where they have invested since 1972. In fact, for information, Malaysia has Intel's largest solar farm outside the United States.
