Google's New Fast Pair Feature May Launch With Samsung Galaxy S23

Google Fast Pair is a quick tethering feature for multiple devices or accessories to be connected to an Android device. Wear OS watches, Fitbits, many TWSs, sets of headphones, and more can easily be tethered to Android phones/tablets, Chromebooks, or even Google TV.

A few weeks ago, we reported that as of today there are over 320 million Fast Pair connections made and counting. Recently 9to5Google reported that Google might introduce a new Fast Pair feature along with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23.

This new feature is to make it easier for users to perform settings on new Android devices or devices that have just been formatted. This is the same feature that Apple offers to iOS users where if a new iPad or iPhone is turned on, the "Set Up Your iPhone" or "Set Up Your iPad" window will appear for users to continue transferring data and logging in to the same account easily and fast.

Interestingly, on Android devices it will start with the Samsung Galaxy S23 device. If this device is turned on, an existing Android device or an old device will appear a Fast Pair window with the text "Set up Galaxy S23 Ultra" and then "To get started, you'll scan a QR code shown on your new device" to download the application Samsung Smart Switch.

April last year, more or less the same feature was introduced to Pixel device users if they want to set up their newly purchased or replacement Pixel devices as well as newly formatted devices.
