Microsoft Stops Selling Windows 10 Today

Microsoft stopped selling Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro downloads today, Tuesday (31/1/2023). But don't worry, because Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro will still be supported until October 14, 2025.

"January 31, 2023 will be the last day these Windows 10 downloads go on sale," Microsoft said on its Windows 10 product page, as quoted by Cnet, Tuesday (1/31/2023).

"Windows 10 will continue to be supported with security updates that will help protect PCs from viruses, spyware and other malware until October 14, 2025," he continued.

So, today is the last day for those of you who want to buy Windows 10 directly from Microsoft.

This download includes a license key for Windows 10 which is essential for the activation and download process. Microsoft itself offers users to immediately upgrade to Windows 11 if their device meets the requirements.

Although Microsoft will no longer sell Windows 10 downloads and license keys, it's not yet known whether consumers will be able to buy Windows 10 from other retailers after the deadline. In addition, laptops and PCs that have been installed with Windows 10 are also likely to be available as long as support has not been withdrawn.

Microsoft first released Windows 10 in July 2015. This operating system was launched to replace Windows 8 which was criticized a lot because it removed the Start menu and button and prioritized the touch interface.

Windows 10 is the first version of Windows that runs like a service, constantly being updated for free to later versions of the operating system. Microsoft says Windows 10 users with compatible devices can upgrade to Windows 11 for free.
