Twitter GodMode Is Still Accessible To Developers By Changing Just One Line Of Code

In 2020, a number of high-profile Twitter accounts, including the accounts of former US president Barrack Obama, Joe Biden, Kanye West, Mr. Beast and others were hacked and used to spread cryptocurrency links that also contained malware.

It has also been reported that these accounts are accessed using a developer function called Twitter GodMode that gives programmers and engineers at Twitter access to any user account without having to enter any passwords.

After this was discovered, Twitter said that they had improved access to Twitter's internal functions. Recently it has been reported that access to the GodMode feature has only been slightly changed, where the name has been changed to PrivilegedMode and access only requires the programmer to change one setting from FALSE to TRUE.

Access to this GodMode or PrivilegedMode feature gives users access to any user account where not only does a password not need to be entered, it also bypasses the need to enter a two-factor authentication code.

The whistleblower who is a former employee of Twitter told this to the United States Congress last October and has become public information recently.

This means that if any hacker once again gains access to Twitter developer accounts, hacking of reputable accounts will be easy.
