Who would have thought, Google Images Search was made by Jennifer Lopez

Often use Google Images Search? There are unique facts about one of these services that many people may not know. One of these Google services was born thanks to Jennifer Lopez. How come?

In a blog post for Project Syndicate, Eric Schmidt, who was then Executive Chairman of Google, said that Google Images was created because of J.Lo, Jennifer Lopez's nickname, and the green Versace dress she wore at the 2000 Grammy Awards. high enough to expose the chest to the stomach.

"Jennifer Lopez wore a green dress, and it caught the world's attention," Schmidt wrote, as quoted by the Huffington Post.

But netizens at that time were not satisfied with the mere description of words. They were curious to see what kind of dress J.Lo was wearing.

"At that time, the image was the most popular search query Google had ever served. But we didn't have a surefire way to meet user expectations. That's where Google Image Search was born," continued Schmidt.

Cathy Edwards, Technical and Product Director for Google Images confirms this. He added, at that time their small team actually wanted to do a search for images, but did not know how many resources to prioritize for the project. After the J.Lo dress 'disaster', it became abundantly clear that this feature was important, and Google made it right away.
