The Ins and Outs of the HAARP Conspiracy Theory Creates Artificial Natural Disasters

The conspiracy theory that HAARP can bring about man-made 'natural disasters' has long gone viral. Recently, HAARP was linked to the Turkey earthquake. On social media, it is quite crowded that the Turkish earthquake was orchestrated by the United States with HAARP technology.

In fact, conspiracy theories about the High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) being able to create artificial 'natural disasters' have been circulating for quite some time. One of these speculations involves a statement from a well-known senior physicist, Prof. Michio Kaku.

When invited to the CBS This Morning program, in 2013 to be exact, Prof Michio Kaku explained that many people complain about the weather but don't realize what they can do about it.

"Instead of doing the traditional rain summoning dance, we physicists shoot trillions of watt lasers into the sky to engineer the occurrence of rain clouds. This time we use the laws of physics, not with spells," said Prof. Michio Kaku.

He then added that scientists are using trillion-watt lasers to help agriculture by engineering the weather, and jokingly this could also be used to prepare weddings. However, the next remark caused a stir and became a conspiracy theory.

"Or a ball game, anything for outdoor activities, and even storms, that can be done through weather modification," he continued.

Even so, that doesn't mean that Prof Kaku said HAARP could be the cause or responsible for the storms that occurred. Some time later, Prof. Kaku corrected the rumors circulating with the Snopes media. He said that at that time he was discussing the possibility of rain using lasers and other tools.

"The story is 100% wrong," answered Prof. Kaku briefly.

HAARP is a weather station located in Gakona, Alaska, USA. This station has many transmitter antennas that can shoot radio frequency waves into the Earth's atmosphere.

Launching Ibtimes, HAARP was initiated by the Pentagon under the direction of the Defense Advance Research Project Agency (DARPA). The weather station is claimed to be able to influence the ionosphere and stratosphere. The amount of energy at the HAARP facility itself is 3.6 million watts.

But can that number engineer a 'natural disaster'? Even though it looks big, many experts agree that it still takes a bigger number to be able to engineer natural disasters. The US government also frequently disputes this theory.
