The Theory Behind China's Mysterious Balloons Floating in America

The United States has shot down a mysterious balloon from China. Is it true that China deliberately directed the balloon to Uncle Sam's country?

"This is a civilian aircraft used for research, mainly meteorological purposes. With limited self-steering capability, the aircraft deviated far from the planned course. The Chinese side regrets the aircraft's unintentional entry into US airspace due to force majeure," the statement said. .

The actual purpose of the balloon is currently unknown. But given its large size, the balloon is unlikely to be used to collect meteorological data. There are those who think that China is deliberately moving it to the US for bullying or other purposes.

However, it is also considered that China certainly does not carelessly do such things. According to balloon expert Andrew Antonio, quoted by us from Ars Technica, China knew sending a clearly observable balloon into the heart of the US was a provocative act, and they could not have done it on purpose.

The most likely scenario, according to Antonio, is that the stop mechanism system, which is used to drop the balloon at the end of the desired flight time, fails.

Usually a stratospheric balloon will have one or more backup stopping mechanisms, but it is possible that a technical issue explains why a balloon launched in China days or weeks ago ended up drifting to the United States.

Well, the Chinese Government may not want to admit this technical failure publicly. Of course this is just a theory, investigations from the authorities will reveal what the mysterious balloon's real purpose is in United States airspace.
