The Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim has now stated that the government will pay attention to the Touch n Go monopoly in the transport arena. As many are aware, Touch n Go is a payment medium used for public transport and also at toll plazas, as well as several other locations.
At the #TemuAnwar event held in conjunction with the Youth Empowerment Fair 2023, Anwar Ibrahim answered the questions raised regarding it, saying Touch n Go has been operating for over 2 decades, and there has been no major progress on the Touch N Go system.
The Prime Minister also said, maybe we need to reconsider the Touch n Go monopoly in the arena.
For information, Touch n Go is an entity wholly owned by CIMB, and is different from Touch n Go Digital which manages digital wallets that also have investments from several parties such as Lazada and others.
