Seoul Ring Will Be The World's Largest Radiusless Ferris Wheel

The Ferris wheel was invented by George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. in 1893. Since then, the size of the Ferris wheel has gotten bigger and more complex in design. Among the modern innovations is the spokeless Ferris wheel that makes it look like a giant ring. When it opens, Seoul Ring will be the world's largest Ferris wheel.

It will be built in Taman Haneul which used to be a landfill site that has been converted into a public park. Seoul Ring will have a diameter of 180 meters housing 36 glass-walled passenger capsules. Each capsule can carry 25 passengers.

The Seoul Ring operation will make full use of sustainable energy sources. Construction will begin in 2025 with it expected to be completed in 2027. The cost of building this non-radial Ferris wheel will reach 400 billion won (~RM 1.37 billion).
