The Perak state government now requires the installation of CCTV cameras in all nurseries in the state, thus avoiding any unwanted incidents such as abuse. This implementation is mandatory for all nurseries registered with the Department of Social Welfare, except those operating at home.
In Perak alone, there are currently around 225 registered nurseries. In an effort to avoid any cases of abuse and neglect, the installation of CCTV is required by the state government.
Any violation of these instructions may also lead to enforcement actions, including temporary closure, compounding, prosecution, revocation of certification and others.
