The TicWatch Pro 5 was finally officially launched this week. It is Mobvoi's first Wear OS 3.x smartwatch and also the world's first powered by Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1. Although this watch overall looks similar in design there are things that make me feel angry.
First up is the TicWatch Pro 5 using a new watch band size. The size used is larger and also strange which is 24mm. This is a problem because the watch strap is a custom type and is not used by other manufacturers.
TicWatch Pro 5 uses a 22mm strap or more specifically 50.0x(P) x 48.0(L) x 12.2(L) mm. Mobvoi also stated that this change is intentional to make TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra users dream because they cannot use the old watch strap.
Mobvoi also shared that this time the supply of watch straps for the TicWatch Pro 5 is limited. But you can pair it with other third-party watch bands and or just subscribe to TimeShow, Mobvoi's own watch face subscription service to decorate your watch.
