According to Canalys, 6 of the 10 best-selling premium flagship smartphones in the first quarter of 2023 were iPhones. Premium flagship smartphones are devices that sell for $500 (~RM2300) and above. The top four devices are the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13. In fifth place is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
This is followed by iPhone 14 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S23, iPhone 12, Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 which complete the list of top 10 best selling premium flagship devices. Xiaomi 13 and Huawei Mate 50 are two devices in the top 15 list that are not manufactured by Samsung or Apple.
Clearly in this category Apple and Samsung are still seen as real premium brands. Chinese-made devices have not yet been able to attract the interest of consumers or may not be able to escape the image of a quality device. For sure, Xiaomi is on the right track since collaborating with Leica. Are there any devices on this list of top 15 premium flagship devices?
