Two months ago realme launched the realme 11 Pro series which uses a 200MP camera and was designed by GUCCI product designer Matteo Menotto. Two models confirmed to enter the Malaysian market are realme 11 Pro and realme 11 Pro+.
I have already tested this device for a few weeks and in this article I will share about its unique design and the 200MP camera technology used. Realme, however, still does not allow the full specifications of this device to be revealed, so I will only touch on the design and camera elements in this article.
DESIGN – Gucci Touch Captivating Hearts
Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ both use the same design with significant differences only in the camera. The design of the device was created in collaboration between realme Design Studio and Matteo Menotto who is a former pattern designer at the leading luxury fashion brand Gucci
In my hands this is realme 11 Pro+ with Sunrise Beige color which is a combination of beige, gold and orange. The back panel is made of artificial leather with a 3D woven finish. Stitching and Gucci's iconic stripe design are also visible. Only on this 11 Pro+ it looks a little like a pants zipper.
This finish makes the device comfortable in the hand and provides a good grip due to the texture of the leather used. The device is also easy to handle because it is quite thin. The giant round camera bump is nothing new but the color choices and layout of each camera make the 11 Pro+ more pleasing to the eye.
The golden frame of the device with the right side has all the volume and power buttons. Above there is only a microphone hole, a speaker grille, below with a USB-C port, another microphone hole and a speaker grille and a SIM card slot. On the front there is a hole in the top center for the selfie camera and the screen is a curved type with a thin and almost even bezel.
Among the many premium mid-range devices of 2023, I dare say the realme 11 Pro+ is the device with the most charming design, comfortable in the hand and quite eye-catching.
Popular 200MP Camera Now
Last year's Xiaomi 12T Pro and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra used 200MP cameras. This year the 200MP camera war is happening on premium mid-range devices. Starting with Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, then Honor 90 and now realme 11 Pro+.
The device uses a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 SuperZoom Camera f/1.69 main sensor with 4x zoom and OIS support. This is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide angle f/2.2 sensor and also a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. The camera app already supports various modes such as Street Photography, Moon, Starry Mode Pro and Super NightScape.
Realme also collaborated with Lonely Planet, a travel guidebook for a new watermark suggesting that this device is suitable as a camera while on vacation to capture beautiful memory moments. The pictures below are samples taken with the realme 11 Pro+ camera which shows preserved details, sharp colors and good HDR effects.

Auto mode – low light environment
Auto mode – day
Street Photography mode + Smart zoom – night
CONCLUSION
These two devices namely realme 11 Pro and realme 11 Pro+ will be launched in Malaysia on July 20 soon. The same date as the launch of the Honor 90 which is also a 200MP camera device. It would be interesting to see a powerful camera like this arrive on a mid-range device giving access to premium features at a more affordable price. As far as the use of a few weeks of realme 11 Pro+ provides a good experience for me.
However, I still cannot give an opinion on whether it is worth owning because there is no sale price yet. But based on the selling price of the imported set, the device's specifications are great but I still have to keep it a secret and if realme Malaysia can sell this device at a price below RM2000 it will definitely be the best premium mid-range device.
