Huawei Mate 60 Pro Uses New Self-Designed Kirin 9000s Chip

Huawei Mate 60 Pro was launched today as a surprise without any prior announcement. Add strangely the device was launched without the specifications of the chip used. Why is this important information kept secret? The mystery of what chip is used is unraveled by Antutu 3D which confirms the Mate 60 Pro is equipped with the new Kirin 9000s chip with a 12-core CPU.

Based on Antutu 3D information, this chip is equipped with 6X Cortex-A78AE CPU cores, 4X Cortex-A510 CPU cores and 2X Cortex-A34 CPU cores. Interesting here is the use of Cortex-A34 as a low power core which is rarely done. This is paired with the previously unannounced Maleon 910 GPU.

In the Antutu 3D test, the Kirin 9000s scored only 699,783 which is only slightly higher than the Snapdragon 888.

This is the first time since 2020 that Huawei introduced a new HiSilicon Kirin chip. They stopped production of their own chips after access to new technology was blocked by the United States. The Kirin 9000s is seen as an improvement to the Kirin 9000 chip from 2020.
