The implementation of the National Digital Identity will be widely implemented from March 2024

Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital has now informed that the implementation of the National Digital Identity (IDN) or also known as My Digital ID, is still in the initial stages for now. Moving forward, the implementation of this national digital identity will be widely implemented from March 2024 with a more vigorous registration process.

With the existence of a national digital identity, it is expected to facilitate a number of things - especially identity verification on other digital services, or for various matters involving the government. It is also expected to be extended to private use.

According to the demo we've seen before, among the uses of My Digital ID or IDN are for registration at clinics, registration for counter affairs at government offices, the identity verification process to do online transactions and so on.

Its use is also expected to be expanded to meet various other matters with the development of the digital era in Malaysia. The government through MIMOS is expected to share more about the registration, use and implementation related to My Digital ID in the near future.
