WhatsApp today officially announced support for pinning messages on chat windows – whether in group chats or regular chats with friends. The feature is being rolled out gradually, and users can choose to pin a message for either 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
Through the message pin feature, users can pin a message to the top of the window, and it will remain for the selected period. This will make it easier for other users to follow an important message, and not miss seeing it.
WhatsApp says different types of messages can be pinned, including text, census, images, emojis and so on.
To pin a message, you just need to press for a moment on a message, and select "Pin" on the menu. This new feature is being rolled out gradually to all WhatsApp users worldwide.
