Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 was originally our choice in third place but when discussed among editorial members, we realized that a device in the compact folding screen category should be included in the list of the three best 2023. So we crowned Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 in third place. It deserves to be the best in its class. The largest outdoor screen is used with more diverse application support as well as IPX8 waterproof capabilities.
It is compact in size but still equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that is quite powerful but consumes less energy. The battery performance is the best in its class as well although not as good as the Fold type. The camera can also withstand the ability to take selfies without having to unlock the device first. Disadvantages are slow charging and battery life which is still not quite benchmark.

Second Place – Honor Magic Vs
Honor Magic Vs is the best folding screen device on the market in mid-2023. It is equipped with an external screen that can be used comfortably because of the same aspect ratio as a candybar device. With a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and 12GB RAM, Magic Vs can run various applications smoothly. The first run performance is also very encouraging.
Other strengths are the ability to take satisfactory pictures and best-in-class battery performance. The 5000 mAh battery used is also the largest on a foldable screen device and comes with 66W fast charging support.
The downside is that the software isn't quite complete and doesn't have any waterproof capabilities. But when looking at the selling price and the pretty complete specifications we crown Honor Magic Vs as the second best folding screen device of 2023.

Champion – Oppo Find N3
Oppo Find N3 is the best folding screen device of 2023 because it is the most complete when all parameters are taken left. The outer screen has the same aspect ratio as a candybar smartphone. The inner screen is also quite large with Dolby Vision support which is rarely offered on Android devices. Watching HDR content on the Find N3 is so satisfying it feels like the retina is on fire. Find N3 also has strength in its performance because it can run THREE programs simultaneously.
The camera is best in class complete with the Hasselblad system. Audio on the Find N3 feels loud but clear even at the highest volume. Even a modest battery can be charged quickly using 67W charging. Even in terms of software it has more interesting features than its competitors in the class of folding screen devices. So if you want the best foldable screen device of 2023, the answer is Oppo Find N3.
