Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 Launched With The Collaboration Of Samsung And Google

The Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip is one of the popular augmented reality (XR) headset device chips. It is used on Pico 4, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Ray-Ban. Most recently, Qualcomm has come up with a new chip, the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 which was developed together with Google and Samsung.

This chip supports GPU performance up to 15% and CPU up to 20%. 4.3K resolution support per eye and over 12 cameras are also included. This extensive camera support will help the device process 3D content, face scans and user movements. It also guarantees that videos can be played at a slow interval rate of around 12ms.

WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth 5.2 support for control device connection with a 50% lower time interval and an overall connection that is 60% more efficient. This chip is said to be used by Samsung for their delayed and previously leaked AR headset. This headset will compete with the Apple Vision Pro one day.

Let's all wait for more details to know which other devices will use this chip this year.
