Bangunan Merdeka 118 has just been crowned as the second tallest building in the world in the middle of last month. But their status will be challenged by Burj Azizi which is expected to be completed in 2028 in Dubai. The construction of Burj Azizi has started a few weeks ago with the target of surpassing the height of 678.9 meters Merdeka 118.
The construction project will cost $1.5 billion when completed. It will house residences, offices, shopping malls, and a 7-star hotel. The final height of Burj Azizi is kept secret at this point to prevent it from being intercepted before it is completed.
Dubai is already the location of the tallest building Burj Khalifa but it seems that it wants to bag the status as the city with the most number of tallest buildings in the world.
