Samsung confirmed some of the Galaxy AI artificial intelligence features on the Galaxy S24 series will be provided on the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series. What will be supported was a mystery at the launch last month. Today, Samsung Malaysia showed at least four Galaxy AI features that will be received on the Galaxy S23 series.
The features are Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist and Photo Assist. Cirlce to Search allows searching to be done from any screen without taking a screenshot. Live Translate allows phone calls to be translated in real time. Note Assist summarizes notes in Samsung Notes while Photo Assist performs photo editing in Gallery using AI.
For those who want Chat Assist that helps the writing process as if ChatGPT, this feature is still exclusive to the S24 series. Likewise with Interpreter's capabilities, producing transcripts in voice recording applications, AI-generated backgrounds and summarizing websites in Samsung Internet.
On the S23 series, the four features listed earlier are free until the end of 2025. Samsung has already said that not all Galaxy AI features can be supported on older devices because they require a powerful NPU on the processor chip.
