Android TV Vulnerability Makes Gmail Accounts Exploitable

Android TV is an increasingly popular smart television operating system, especially in the form of affordable dongles and TV boxes. There are many apps and people have Google accounts to use them. But a rather serious vulnerability exists that allows anyone to access a Gmail account logged into the TV.

According to a video by Cameron Gray, Android TV does not require a pin to access the Gmail inbox. If Chrome is installed on an Android TV using an APK and then goes to the Gmail page, it will automatically sign in to the Google account used on the TV.

Hackers can use this vulnerability to take over Google accounts by sending requests to reset passwords. Google is already aware of the existence of this vulnerability and is in the process of patching it. As for Google TV users, they don't need to worry because it doesn't happen on devices that use the operating system version. latest

So for a while you are advised not to use a personal account on an Android TV that is not yours such as in a boarding house or Airibnb.
