Just a few days ago Tesla Malaysia started offering the updated Model 3 Performance, today shows a price reduction for all models offered for the Malaysian market.
The Tesla Model Y which was sold in advance from 20 July 2023 which was originally offered at a price of RM 199,000 has now been sold at a price of RM 191,000. The Y Long Range AWD model is now sold at a price of RM 238,000 compared to the original price of RM 246,000 and the Y Performance AWD model is sold at a price of RM 280,000 compared to the original price of RM 288,000.
And the Model 3 went on sale within 7 months in Malaysia starting on 1 September 2023 last year, also receiving a price reduction. The base version of the Model 3 has been sold at a price of RM 181,000 compared to the original price of RM 189,000. Model 3 Long Range AWD has been reduced from the price of RM 218,000 to RM 210,000.
This reduction in price of RM 8,000 is in line with the price reduction that Tesla is doing all over the world, possibly as a result of increased economies of scale or the use of new technology that allows cost prices to decrease when the manufacturing process and increased sales bear fruit. Just two days ago Tesla announced that it will launch an affordable EV next year so let's all look forward to it.
