Sony Music has now announced it will take over one of the podcast focused companies, namely Neon Hum Media. For information, around 5 years ago, Sony Music was ready to invest in the company, and now they chose to take it over completely.
With this takeover move, it gives Sony Music access to a number of audio content, and will continue to invest in developing other content. A number of new podcast content is also expected to continue to be developed under Sony Music.
The podcast arena is now starting to receive a lot of attention, not to mention Spotify which has also invested in the same arena, and has taken over several podcast publishing companies. In Malaysia itself, Keluar Sekejap is seen as wanting to lead the arena, and has recently taken over one of the local podcast brands to further diversify their content offering.
