Arm Announces Cortex-X925, Cortex-A725 CPU and Immortalis G925 GPU

Arm today announced two new CPUs under the Armv9 family and three GPUs that will be used in Android devices in 2025. The first is the Cortex-X925 flagship CPU that replaces the Cortex X4 used in chips like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. According to Arm the performance improvement up to 36% can be achieved X925 compared to X4 and therefore the new designation is used instead of X5 as expected.

Next is the Cortex-A725 CPU which replaces the Cortex-A720 and offers a performance increase of up to 35%. It also saves power consumption up to 15%. With Android devices now increasingly having artificial intelligence (AI) features, an increase in NPU capability of up to 41% is also noted by this new CPU.

The Immortalis G925 GPU offers a graphics processor performance increase of up to 37% compared to the Immortalis G720. The increase in raytracing increased up to 52% with power consumption successfully reduced up to 30%.

The Immortalis G925 GPU offers a graphics processor performance increase of up to 37% compared to the Immortalis G720. The increase in raytracing increased up to 52% with power consumption successfully reduced up to 30%. This GPU can be customized with usage starting with 10 shader cores which can be added for higher performance for use on Chromebooks for example.

In the popular first Genshin Impact performance increased by 49%, and Roblox (46%). In the first Call of Duty Mobile, Diablo Immortal, the Day After Tomorrow, Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, a performance increase between 29-72% can be achieved.

The other two GPUs announced are Mali-G725 and Mali-G625. Both use the same infrastructure as the G925 but with a reduced shader core. G725 with 6-9 cores while G625 with 1-5 shader cores.

The gem chip that will use Arm's latest flagship CPU and GPU is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 which will be announced at the end of this year.
