If you receive a phone call on the iPhone 16, you can answer it on the iPad Air M1. The same goes for Internet sharing or hotspots, which can continue to connect automatically. For Android users, you need to use a Windows computer with Phone Link. Meanwhile, if you use an Android tablet, Cross-device services can be used starting this week.
Cross-device services detect your other Android devices with the same Google account. In fact, if you have another Google account on the same device – you can also use this feature. Currently only Google Meet video calls are supported, where if you receive them on Pixel 9 Pro XL or Galaxy Z Flip6, you can now press the Google Cast icon to transfer this call to another Android device like Nothing Phone (2a) Plus or maybe Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet.
In addition to Google Meet video calls, Internet sharing can also be used. If your WiFi and Bluetooth are active, devices that already support this feature can detect your other Android devices to connect to the hotspot automatically. These new features can be used on any Android 11 and above device with GMS. It will be offered to users in stages, as my Pixel and Samsung devices have started to be supported since last month.
Coming with Android 15, notifications on one device can also be displayed on other devices with the same operating system – also through Cross-device services.
