There is no other way to prove the capability of an electric car than to take it for a long distance. I personally took the opportunity to drive the Smart #1 Premium for 2345.1km across the peninsula for 5 days to learn about EVs. Today Geely Galaxy E5 was driven from China to Malaysia, over 3700km for 10 days.
Geely Galaxy E5 is an electric car in the SUV class that was also built together with Proton's first electric car, the e.MAS 7. Therefore, the Galaxy E5's long-distance journey also hints at the e.MAS 7's ability to do the same.
Starting from the Geely factory in Guiyang, Jiang Yanlin who is the team leader of the Galaxy E5 convoy has traveled through China, Laos, and Thailand before reaching Malaysia. This journey also faced challenges through the flood situation and Typhoon Yagi in Laos. After arriving in Shah Alam, it is now the Proton e.MAS7's turn to explore the whole of Malaysia over 2000km to prove its long-distance capabilities.
The Proton e.MAS7 tour will start on October 5, starting from Negeri Sembilan and returning to Selangor to complete the whole Peninsular tour, before going to Sabah and ending the entire tour in Sarawak. During this tour they will stop in major cities throughout the state, and invite local people to see the Proton e.MAS7 for themselves more closely.
To date more than 20,000 Galaxy E5s have been delivered to buyers in China, proving the high demand. It is not impossible that the Proton e.MAS7 will be in high demand from users who want a local electric car.
