Instagram and Facebook have replaced the use of the “Made with AI” label on content suspected to be generated by artificial intelligence (AI) to “AI Info” today. The action was taken after many users complained that edits to photos made in software such as Photoshop were labeled as entirely generated using AI.
When the AI Info label is pressed, more detailed information about the work will be read. Instagram will provide information that uploaded photos have been edited with the help of AI and not entirely generated by generative AI.
It is very likely that Instagram's content detection system reads metadata or watermarks hidden by popular photo editing software whenever the AI feature is used. In Samsung, Pixel and later Apple devices for example, there is already a feature to edit photos with the help of AI. Through this new label, the real picture will not be beaten flat as a completely AI generated using the previous label.
