Since the Microsoft Edge web browser uses Chromium as its base, users now have more choices of plug-ins (extensions) that can be installed on their web browsers. However, this is also seen to cause performance issues where it will consume RAM memory and slow down the use of your web browser.
Recently, it was reported that a new feature is being tested where the web browser will display a warning on the toolbar to inform users which plugins are using high memory or CPU processes and causing performance issues.
For these plug-ins, Microsoft Edge seems to recommend that you close them to restore web browser performance. This feature will be introduced for testing purposes through Microsoft Edge Canary 130, but if you are already in the Windows program you can go to the edge://flags window and look for the Extension Performance Detector feature and activate the feature from there.
