Every parent and guardian's concern is that children in their care are accessing age-inappropriate content. They don't have 24/7 a day to monitor the activities of children like Sauron. Spotify today announced the feature of accounts for children under 13 that can be managed by a parent or guardian.
Through it parents and guardians can control the songs and videos that can be streamed and the Canvas graphics display when the songs are played. They can also limit the streaming of songs that contain age-inappropriate lyrics. This feature differs from Spotify Kids which does block all adult labeled content as it puts the power in the hands of parents and guardians to determine what is allowed.
At this point the account feature of children under 13 is supervised by the guardian parent in the trial phase. It can be used by Premium Family plan customers in Denmark, New Zealand, and Sweden only.
