REDMI launched two new variants of its K80-generation smartphone in China on Tuesday. Through them, REDMI features several latest innovations including powerful processing chips, large batteries and other advanced technologies. Then taking the mobile experience to a better level especially among modern users who want a device with high performance but also equipped with an affordable price.
REDMI K80 and K80 Pro use a 6.67″ 2K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3200nits. This is combined with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12/16/24GB RAM and 256/512GB/1TB internal storage for the REDMI K80 Pro. Meanwhile, the REDMI K80 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with memory options of up to 24GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.
Also included is the latest Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 software which offers a number of AI-based features that make it easier for users while helping to increase productivity. A tri-camera setup with a 50MP main (Fusion 800) + 32MP ultra-wide angle (Samsung S5KKD1) + 50MP macro telephoto (Samsung S5KJN5) is included on the REDMI K80 Pro. Then the dual main camera complements the REDMI K80 with a 50MP (Light Fusion 800) + 8MP ultra-wide angle setup with built-in OIS.
Both devices also have a maximum 8K recording capability and a 20MP selfie camera. REDMI further equips the device with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging on the K80 Pro model. In addition, the 6,550mAh battery on the REDMI K80 model supports 90W fast charging. Other specifications include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, IP68 waterproofing and an infrared sensor. The selling price starts at RMB3699 (~RM2,267) for the REDMI K80 Pro and the REDMI K80 starts at RMB2499 (~RM1,531) each.
