Spotify Audiobooks Will Soon Include Short Videos

Spotify now wants to start focusing on video content, so it is ready to pay content creators with the most popular videos. In Malaysia, streaming music videos are being offered – while overseas people are receiving access to podcasts and educational videos. Most recently, Spotify will also add video displays to their audiobooks.

The audiobook offering began at the end of last year. There are more than 150,000 audiobooks in Spotify's collection. To attract the attention of more people, publishers or owners of audiobooks can now share short 30-second videos. The video content is from behind the scenes, interviews, moments of voice recording sessions or even messages from the book's author.

At the same time, Spotify also introduced Follow Along which provides an immersive visual experience as if flipping through a physical book. Then the Author Page feature which focuses on the author's profile such as book catalogs, inspirational stories, background details and others will also be provided.

For now, the audiobook offering is still limited to countries such as Australia, the United States, the UK, Canada, France, Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. There is no information on when the audiobook will be offered in Malaysia, just as there is still no news on when DJ AI will arrive.
