Atari Gamestation Go Portable Console to Be Launched at CES

The Atari name is not known to the younger generation, whereas four decades ago it was synonymous with consoles like PlayStation and Nintendo now. It was where Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak honed their talents before founding Apple. At CES 2025, Atari confirmed that they will launch the Atari Gamestation Go, which is a portable console.

No specifications were shared before the launch, but based on the video shared by Atari, it is similar to other portable consoles on the market. The difference lies on the right side because it has a number pad like the classic Atari 5200 and Jaguar controllers. Meanwhile, on the left side there is a ball-shaped controller like the Trak-Ball controller for the Atari 2600.

More interesting is that there are two USB-C ports on the back for connecting two remote controls, which shows that the Gamestation Go can also be used in static dock mode. This is further confirmed by the presence of an HDMI port on the top.

There is speculation that the Gamestation Go is actually the Atari Gamestation Pro but a portable version. Therefore, it may come with 200 classic Atari games built-in. If this is not enough, game ROMs can be added using a micro SD card.
