After a month of global announcement of Tesla Model Y with updated design approaching Cybertruck, today Tesla Malaysia officially showed the new Tesla Model Y at Pavilion Damansara. This new design similar to Cybertruck brings various innovations in terms of design and slight specification updates.
In terms of design, the front and rear lights with elongated bar style are used to replace the previous lights which may be seen as traditional lights. The interior design has also been improved, with the Tesla Model Y retaining the signal light stalk, instead of using the signal light button on the steering wheel. Comfort has also been improved with 22% reduction in road noise and 20% reduction in wind noise. The rear passenger seat can also be adjusted electronically, and the storage capacity can reach 2,130 liters.
In terms of performance, the Tesla Model Y is offered in two versions, namely the RWD rear-wheel drive which has a range of 466 KM WLTP and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The AWD Long Range all-wheel drive version has a range of 551 KM WLTP, and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Both models have the same top speed of 201 km/h.
The Tesla Model Y RWD is priced from RM 195,450 while the Model Y AWD Long Range is priced from RM 242,450. As usual, users can customize the color, equipment and software. For the earliest buyers for the next few weeks, they will get the ‘Launch Series’ package consisting of decorative labels, rear badges and puddle lamp patterns. Especially for buyers of the AWD Long Range version, they will also receive the ‘Acceleration Boost’ function.
