Malaysians as Young as 12 to Be Automatically Registered in MyDigital ID System

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has now said that Malaysians as young as 12 years old will be automatically registered in the MyDigital ID system, making it easier for them to use MyDigital ID when needed.

To this end, the National Registration Department will pre-register Malaysians when they reach the age of 12. In addition, automatic registration will also be carried out when replacing MyKads – including when MyKads are lost.

MyDigital ID is the government's move to introduce a single identity method for various government services, including several private services. Services such as LHDN and TNB have begun integrating MyDigital ID support.

To date, 1.8 million Malaysians have registered to use MyDigital ID.
