Yesterday I shared my experience around the TECNO booth at MWC Barcelona 2025. Today they have officially launched the products on display and TECNO MEGABOOK S14 is one that makes me wonder if Windows laptop manufacturers have found a solution to compete with the very friendly Apple ecosystem?
MEGABOOK S14 is a Windows laptop that focuses on AI and the ecosystem. For the first time, TECNO includes the new TECNO AI application with Ella Voice for Windows devices. More interestingly, the majority of the AI features on the device are processed from within the device without an Internet connection. This device also uses the Snapdragon X Elite chip which makes it a Copilot+ laptop.
With this chip, MEGABOOK S14 is indirectly the world's lightest and thinnest AI laptop. This laptop comes with a 2.8K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, uses a thin and light design, supports a 70Wh battery with 65W charging, matched with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage. TECNO also collaborated with Qualcomm to ensure that this laptop's battery can last up to 16 hours with full use of features and functions.
The TECNO MEGABOOK S14 has TECNO AI and Ella Voice applications. Pressing one key will summon Ella Voice and users can use many AI features similar to Ella on TECNO phones. The AI model used is a combination of DeepSeek, ChatGPT and Gemini. Features such as generating text, helping to write creatively, recording meeting minutes and generating transcriptions with summaries can all be done on this laptop. In fact, you can also generate PowerPoint presentation slides by just entering a prompt.
TECNO VOC Plus is a bonus feature given to users such as an AI webcam, 6 DTS X: Ultra speakers, dual ENC microphones, and a camera system that can change the background. TECNO also wants to compete with Apple by offering an ecosystem similar to Huawei and Honor.
Just tap a TECNO phone near the touchpad, it will connect and automatically all tasks or file transfers become faster and more efficient. It's like magic and a dream, because AI-generated text files on the MEGABOOK S14 can immediately appear on the TECNO CAMON 40 Premier 5G.
TECNO shared that their laptop can also be connected to an external NVIDIA GPU using a USB-C connection only. With this, the MEGABOOK S14 will have a great double power to handle 3D software.
This laptop will most likely not be sold in Malaysia due to fierce competition and the demand for Chinese-branded laptops that have not yet received a strong response. However, if TECNO device sales this year are encouraging in Malaysia – TECNO will try to expand their product offerings.
