TECNO CAMON 40 Series Now Official With Dimensity 8350, 50MP Periscope Camera And AI Button

The CAMON 40 series is one of TECNO's popular smartphone families. This series usually challenges the Reno series, Poco F series, Redmi Note series or even vivo V. At the MWC 2025 event, TECNO announced 4 devices, namely the CAMON 40 Premier 5G, CAMON 40 Pro 5G, CAMON 40 Pro and CAMON 40. TECNO offers an interesting feature that can be enjoyed on all of these devices, namely the additional physical One-Tap Button.

CAMON 40 Premier 5G

The CAMON 40 Premier 5G is a "flagship" device for TECNO this year. It is the most powerful with a 6.67-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED screen, powered by the Dimensity 8350 chip, using 12GB RAM with 12GB virtual memory, 50MP periscope camera + 50MP main + 50MP 3x periscope zoom and packing Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

The device has a physical AI One-Tap Button, where to set the function of this button the user will be taken to the settings like Action Button. This button is to summon Ella Voice or be a shutter for the camera mode in the water as this device supports IP68/IP69 protection. The device battery is 5100mAh with 70W fast charging.

TECNO also brings a premium design with a giant round camera bump, leather-like finish, a design that maintains the same identity for the entire CAMON 40 line and is built to truly feel like a luxury flagship device. Unique AI photography features such as FlashSnap are also provided which promise the best photo results for fast moving subjects that are inconsistent. This feature takes and processes images in 0.52 seconds.

CAMON 40 Pro 5G

While the CAMON 40 Premier 5G is a premium mid-range device, the CAMON 40 Pro 5G is in the regular mid-range. It uses the same screen technology, only slightly larger at 6.78-inches. The screen resolution is FHD+, the chip is Dimensity 7300, 50MP+8MP cameras, and uses memory up to 12GB of RAM with 12GB of virtual memory.

For the battery, this device packs a larger size of 5200mAh but its charging is slower with only 45W. TECNO only separates the CAMON 40 Premier as their top device with the 40 Pro 5G and below using the same design.

These two devices are in the basic mid-range because they are powered by the Helio G100 Ultimate chip and matched with 8+8 GB of RAM. Both devices use a 6.78-inch AMOLED 120Hz screen, are limited to 4G only, the camera is 50 + 8 Megapixel, and also has stereo speakers with a 5200mAh battery and 45W charging.

The only significant difference between the CAMON 40 Pro and CAMON 40 is the device color choice and selfie camera. All devices under the new CAMON 40 series also run a new operating system based on Android 15.

TECNO Malaysia stated that two of these four devices will be launched in Malaysia, but it is still not confirmed which model. They also confirmed that the Ella Voice on these devices has been enhanced with DeepSeek, Gemini and several other models packaged into TECNO AI models.

The new CAMON 40 series by TECNO also supports IP68 / IP69 protection, uses Gorilla Glass 7i glass and is complete with interesting AI features such as AI Eraser 2.0, AI Perfect Face, AI Sharpness Plus, AI Image Extender, AI Call Assistant and AI Writing.

Based on their offerings, the TECNO CAMON 40 Premier 5G looks like it could be a contender for the premium mid-range device this year. What do you think?
