Vivo V50 First Look – 50MP ZEISS Tri-Camera

The Vivo V series is known for its attractive designs and various types of finishes. Vivo innovates a lot with various types of finishes, from glossy to color-changing, as well as thin phones. These innovations also give users various options to choose a phone that suits their style and needs.

For example, the vivo V50 can be one of the interesting examples in the V series that showcases an interesting context in terms of design and finish. This device offers several premium color options, especially Ancora Red, along with a thin body. Here is a first look at the Vivo V50, which currently focuses more on the design and camera aspects.

Design and Color

Holding a V50 provides an experience that is almost the same as using the V40 Pro. In terms of design, the V50 stands out with good ergonomic elements, making it comfortable to hold. The combination of a thin design and curved edges provides additional comfort, making the usage experience more enjoyable.

In addition, the premium construction materials used further add to the aesthetic value of this device. It not only gives a sense of luxury but also quality. Overall, the V50 combines elegant style and practical function, making it an attractive choice for those who prioritize style and function.

The V50's matte finish really highlights its uniqueness. The combination of soft matte texture and subtle shine creates a balance that makes the design look simple, modern, and stylish. There is no doubt that it is eye-catching. The available color options are quite attractive such as Ancora Red, Mist Purple and Satin Black.

My favorite color? Of course, Ancora Red. The red resembles maroon or deep red, giving a touch of elegance and luxury. It can also stand out with a minimalist style. However, Mist Purple and Satin Black are no less attractive.

Satin Black, with its natural hue, gives a modern and minimalist impression—perfect for those who want to look simple but still stylish. Meanwhile, Mist Purple provides a combination of alluring elements, such as romance, calm, and relaxation. All of these options have their own charm.

AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0

The camera module on the left side of the device is once again a highlight due to the prominent camera bump and the large LED below it. Some thought the large LED was a fingerprint scanner due to its size, but it is actually an LED flash. This LED flash is also larger than the previous model, making it more prominent and attractive.

Vivo also introduced a new technology, AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0, which can help produce more beautiful portrait photos, especially in low light conditions. In addition, this LED can also function as a notification light for ringtones, messages, and music.

In addition, this LED can also function as a dynamic light for ringtones, messages, and music. However, it is not comparable to the Glyph feature on Nothing devices which offers more lighting options and can be customized.

Vivo once again stole the show with their camera technology, this time through a collaboration with ZEISS which was introduced on the V50 model. This move is a continuation of their efforts since the V30 series and shows their commitment to improving the user photography experience, especially in the mid-range category.

This approach is also expected to meet the needs and desires of users who prioritize quality without compromising on the value of the device.

Three 50MP ZEISS Cameras

The V50 comes with three 50MP cameras using ZEISS technology. Two cameras are placed on the rear, while the other is a selfie camera. The device also supports 4K quality video recording, making it a suitable choice for those who want to record videos with clear results.

Among the interesting features of the V50 is the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait which offers three focal length options, namely 23 mm, 35 mm, and 50 mm. This feature makes it easy for users to record portraits from various perspectives, whether wide angle or close-up. In addition, the device's camera is equipped with seven background options featuring a special bokeh effect from ZEISS. This effect not only creates an attractive background but also makes the subject in the picture stand out more.

The Vivo V50 is also equipped with Film Camera Mode which allows users to take pictures with an effect resembling a classic film camera. This feature can produce retro-style shots, making it an ideal choice for those who like to highlight different aesthetic elements in their respective photographic works.

In addition, AI Image Studio offers various interesting features including AI Eraser which makes it easy for users to erase unwanted objects from images. The AI Cutout function also allows the background to be replaced quickly and easily.

Not to be missed, the Suggest Review feature provides automatic suggestions to improve image quality, making the editing process smoother and more user-friendly. Here are some interesting photos taken using the Vivo V50.

So far, the V50 is seen as an all-round device with a slim design, premium color options, and quality build materials. The 50MP camera with ZEISS offers features such as ZEISS Multifocal Portrait and Film Camera Mode as if it provides interesting added value. In addition, AI Image Studio also simplifies the editing process with features such as AI Eraser and AI Cutout. However, there are still many aspects of this device's performance that need to be tested further. The V50 will be launched in Malaysia on March 13, 2025, stay tuned for its full review in the near future.
