Children Under 6 Years of Age Advised Not to Be Exposed to Screens, to Avoid Effects on Brain Development

Health and medical experts in France are now advising that children under 6 years of age should not be exposed to screens, including televisions, tablets, computers and even phones, to avoid effects on brain development.

Currently, in France, it is recommended that children not be exposed to screens before the age of 3, and only use them in limited amounts between the ages of three and six.

The effects on children exposed to these screens that are readily observed include lack of focus, memory problems, language delays, and several others. Screen use is also said to have a negative impact on the social and emotional development of a child.

In parallel with this, the health union in France is calling for policies regarding children and future generations to be reviewed, and to avoid any lasting effects.
