Last year, Google Notebook LM introduced the Audio Overviews feature which allows any document such as exam notes to be automatically converted into a podcast with two hosts. Today, AI Overviews has been updated to support over 50 more major languages in the world including Malay.
With this, documents in English, for example, can be converted into audio podcasts in Malay that are more understandable to listeners. In addition to Malay, other languages supported are Indonesian, Javanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and many more. It is a bit strange that Tagalog is still not supported even though it is one of the major languages in Southeast Asia.
NotebookLM users can access this new feature by changing the content output settings to the preferred language starting today.
