Realme GT7 First Look – A Balanced Choice for Various Needs

Realme is currently preparing to launch a new device in the GT series in the near future. The device in question is the Realme GT7, which is also promoted as a device with the ability to challenge other competitors. We were given the opportunity to see this device early, and here is our first look at it.

What's in the Box?

The Realme GT7 packaging box comes with an all-black finish that gives a modern and minimalist impression. On the front, the Realme GT7 branding is clearly displayed using a large font size to make it easy for users to quickly recognize this model. In addition, this packaging box also displays several key specifications, including memory capacity, storage, and other features that complement this device.

When the box is opened, users will receive the Realme GT7 smartphone along with several additional accessories. Among the accessories included are a protective case, user manual, SIM ejector, charging head, and a white USB A-C cable. The unit received includes a two-pin charging head from China. However, for the Malaysian market, a three-pin charger is expected to be provided to ensure compatibility with local electrical sockets.

Design and Display

Realme still maintains the same design elements as the Realme GT7 Pro on this device. The back panel with a glossy matte finish is fully used to ensure comfort during use. In addition, this finish also helps maintain the appearance value of the device so that it always looks good and reduces easily visible dirt.

This glossy finish produces a sparkling sand-like effect when exposed to light which gives a unique touch to the device's design. In my opinion, this design looks minimalist but still stands out with its own charm. However, this depends on individual taste, as everyone has a different perspective on attractive design elements

Realme GT7 comes with a large rectangular camera module with beveled sides to reduce the effect of bumps. In addition, the area around the camera module is decorated with a deep red line that highlights the design identity of this device. In terms of comfort, the Realme GT7 offers a good balance and is comfortable to hold, thanks to the flat edge design and curved corners that help improve hand grip.

Realme also introduced the HyperImage+ branding, which indicates that the device's camera system uses the technology. It is not new, in fact, Realme has used it in several existing devices since its introduction last year. In addition, the Graphene branding indicates that the device's battery uses the technology to improve efficiency and durability.

Next, the standard button layout looks the same as the Realme 14, which I have previously tested. The power button and audio rocker are placed on the right side of the device. Interestingly, this power button is decorated with an all-red finish, which further highlights its presence.

The left side of the device appears empty, while the top houses the infrared sensor and microphone hole. The phone also supports a stereo speaker system, with one of the speakers located at the bottom next to the USB-C port and SIM slot.

The Realme GT7 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, offering FHD+ resolution (2,780 x 1,264 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, this display is said to have passed HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certification, with its performance to be tested in a future article.

The device also supports an in-screen fingerprint scanner. In addition, the device's flat edge design and thin bezels enhance the viewing experience, without any problems in initial use.

Hardware and Software

No information about the chip can be revealed at this time for some reason. However, the unit received comes with a memory option of 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage without microSD card support. In addition, this device also supports 12GB of virtual RAM. In terms of software, it uses Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. Another thing, the Realme GT7 comes with a 7,000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging system. The device can be recharged wired via the USB-C port provided.

Camera Settings

The main camera comes with a configuration of 50MP main lens, 50MP telephoto lens, and 8MP ultra-wide lens equipped with HyperImage+ technology. This camera is capable of recording up to 8K at a frame rate of 30FPS which should be able to produce sharp and detailed recordings. Meanwhile, the front camera is equipped with a 32MP sensor.

The camera application also offers several built-in functions such as Street, Video, Photo, Portrait and More. In addition, there are also several additional modes such as AI Snap Mode, Underwater Mode and Film. This camera supports AI technology and built-in HDR to ensure that pictures are taken with a balanced and quality light balance.

Users can also choose a photography style such as Crisp for a neutral look or Vibrant to produce brighter colors. In addition, when using Street Mode, there is a zoom tab that allows zoom shots to be taken automatically when activated. At the same time, the focal length offered is between 16mm to 115mm.

Conclusion

The Realme GT7 is a device with a modern design and attractive specifications in its class. It is equipped with a memory option of 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage, as well as a 7,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. In terms of photography, this device offers a 50MP main camera with HyperImage+ and AI technology, as well as a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. In addition, it supports a stereo audio system and in-screen fingerprint scanning, providing a balance in performance and daily usage experience.

The actual performance of this device will be tested further in an upcoming article.
