A few weeks ago, the arrival of Grab EV service was teased, where Grab offers EV ride-hailing service from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to any location in the Klang Valley.
Now, it can be seen that the service has been activated at the airport, and can be accessed via the Grab app, as previously shown by Soya Cincau. This EV ride-hailing service seems to use BYD M6 electric vehicles based on the listing on the app itself, suitable if you are with a family or a group of 4-5 people.
The price for this ride-hailing service also seems to be set at RM134 based on several different locations that we have personally selected and tested from Shah Alam to the city of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur.
Another thing is that the location where you will pick up this vehicle is slightly different from the previous ride-hailing service locations. Previously, all ride-hailing services had to pick up passengers at the taxi stand on the first floor, but for this Grab EV service, you can board it on the third floor (arrivals) at gate four which has been designated as a fixed location specifically for this service.
We asked Grab Malaysia about this EV service from KLIA, and they confirmed that the service is currently in the testing and experimentation phase before it is launched publicly soon.
