Mark Zuckerberg has now shared that Threads has started testing sending DMs through the Threads platform itself, without having to go to Instagram. With this move, users on Threads can send private messages to each other without having to leave the app.
This will also see Threads add an Inbox feature to their app, making it easier for other users to send and review DMs or private messages.
This test began in a few countries first, before expanding to global users.
The announcement of this feature also comes in parallel with X which has begun introducing the new XChat feature to customers with a number of new improvements.
