Video Upload Feature on Google Gemini AI App Begins to Be Introduced for Free and Paid Users

If you are a user of Google Gemini AI app for your daily tasks, Google has reportedly introduced a new feature for the app, where you can upload videos to the app.

Uploaded videos can be analyzed by Gemini, which can explain the description of the video, and use the word “prom” style to describe the context that can be processed from the uploaded video.

Through a report by 9To5Google that has tested this feature, Gemini seems to be able to describe the context through the audio from the uploaded video as well. In the meantime, the uploaded videos can be played through the video player built into the Google Gemini app.

This feature is being introduced to Google Gemini app users in stages. It is also reported that both free and paid app users can enjoy this feature, but it is possible that paid customers will get access to it first.

To access it, you just need to press the “+” icon at the bottom of the app, where you can upload image files, documents and now videos if you have received the update. This video analysis feature is somewhat of an extension of the video analysis feature via YouTube links which is now extended to other videos.

Supported video files for uploading to Gemini include 3GP, AVI, FLV, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG and WEBM. The size of a video that can be uploaded at any one time is limited to 20MB, where paid users can upload 10 videos at once. Gemini is also capable of processing 1 hour of videos without audio and 45 minutes of videos with audio.

For now, this video upload and analysis feature can only be accessed through the Google Gemini app for now. The file upload feature has been demonstrated on the web version, but the ability to upload videos specifically has not yet been launched.
