Recently, the technology that is seen to be developing very rapidly is smart glasses technology. Where companies such as Google, Snap and Meta are seen to have shown or at least are developing their offerings.
Recently, it was reported that ByteDance, the parent company of the short video sharing platform TikTok, is developing its own extended reality (XR) smart glasses. This XR technology looks at the combination of the three concepts of digital reality technology, namely virtual reality, mixed reality and augmented reality.
The XR glasses that ByteDance is developing will reportedly come with a goggle design that is more compact than the current market offerings. It will also be connected to a small accessory that will act as a power supply and also the processing unit of the XR set.
At the moment, it is not known when ByteDance will show this product, but it is also reported that Pico, a subsidiary of device developers under ByteDance, is seeking the cooperation of various other technology companies in China to develop this device as soon as possible.
