CIMB Introduces 12-Hour Cooldown Period for ID and Password Resets

CIMB has started implementing a 12-hour cooldown period since 30 June 2025 as an additional security measure to protect user accounts from any unauthorized access attempts.

This period will start automatically when the user ID or password reset process is carried out via CIMB Clicks or the CIMB OCTO application. During the cooldown period, access to the account will be temporarily blocked to prevent any unauthorized intrusion attempts. Once the period expires, users will receive a notification to regain access to the account as usual.

This initiative is part of CIMB's efforts to address the increasing cyber threats and increasingly worrying online fraud incidents. The bank also stressed that this measure is in line with the financial industry's commitment to strengthen trust in secure digital banking services.
