Google NotebookLM started out as an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that could help generate integrated review notes from multiple different documents. Later, it could produce interactive podcasts on a given topic. Now, NotebookLM is introducing new features for several Featured Notebook topics.
Google currently offers only 8 topics on topics such as the complete works of William Shakespeare, the performance of the world's top 50 companies in Q1 2025, The Economist's 2025 predictions, and even scientific facts about Yellowstone Park.
The Featured Notebook feature is a continuation of the public notebook and podcast sharing feature that was introduced in June. Google says that so far more than 140,000 notebooks and podcasts have been shared by users.
More notebooks will be added to Featured Notebooks through Google's collaboration with The Economist and The Atlantic. Although this feature was launched today, I haven't been able to access it yet. Maybe because, as usual, Google is introducing it in stages to global users.
