Grab has made a name for itself in Southeast Asia as one of the largest ride-hailing companies in Southeast Asia, replacing taxi services with regular drivers who offer more sensible payment rates,
Interestingly, Grab in Singapore has just introduced its own taxi service called GrabCab, which will come with 40 cars for now, making Grab the sixth taxi operator in the country.
The GrabCab service has been operating since July 2025 and comes with fares starting from S$4.60 (~RM15) for a four-seater vehicle, while the distance rate is 26 cents for every 400m under 10km, and 26 cents for every 350m after 10km. A fee of 26 cents will be charged for every 45 seconds the taxi has to wait for a passenger.
The taxi operator is GrabRentals, a subsidiary of Grab, and uses 40 fifth-generation Toyota Prius hybrid cars. Following Singaporean law, GrabCab has three years to increase their taxi fleet to 800 cars.
