Honor Magic V5 Launched as World's Thinnest Foldable Phone

Honor Magic V5 was finally launched a while ago and now holds the status of the world's thinnest foldable phone. In the open position, it is only 4.1mm thick and in the folded position it is only 8.8mm thick. This allows the Magic V5 to overtake the Oppo Find N5 which is 4.2mm thick when opened and 8.9mm when closed.

In China, the Magic V5 is equipped with a 6.43″ OLED LTPO outer screen and a 7.95″ OLED LTPO inner screen complete with Dolby Vision display support. This is paired with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage and a battery of up to 6100 mAh. The very large battery for this foldable device supports 66W wired charging with 50W wireless charging support and reverse.

The main camera consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 64MP telephoto. Meanwhile, the two selfie cameras are 20MP. All three main cameras are placed in a circular camera bump on the back.

There are a pair of stereo speakers on the side of the device. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the power button. Because the device is so thin, the body is only slightly thicker than the included USB-C port. One feature we noticed missing this time is the absence of an infrared emitter.

In China, the device is advertised with DeepSeek artificial intelligence (AI) support and satellite communication support. More interestingly, the Magic V5 also supports file transfer to HarmonyOS, Android, Windows, iOS and macOS devices.

In China, the selling price of the device is as follows.

Honor Magic V5 (12/256 GB) – RMB 8999 (~RM 5309)

Honor Magic V5 (16/512 GB) – RMB 9999 (~RM 5899)

Honor Magic V5 (16/1000 GB) – RMB 10999 (~RM 6489)
