LG Introduces 40-Inch Nano IPS Curved Screen Display With Thunderbolt 5 Support



LG, the South Korean technology brand today unveiled its latest display offering, the LG 40U990A-W, a 40-inch display that uses a Nano IPS panel and comes with a display size of 39.7 inches.


This display comes with a resolution of 3840×2,160 pixels and supports Variable Refresh Rate technology along with AMD FreeSync Premium to ensure that the frames generated on the screen do not experience screen tearing issues. It can also process 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is quite important for those who edit video professionally.


In terms of plug options, this display comes with one Thunderbolt 5 port with 96W charging power, two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 port, six USB 3.2 Gen2x2 ports, one 3.5mm audio port and one Gigabit Ethernet port.


Interestingly, LG says that you can combine the LG 40U990A-W display with another display to create a large display with a resolution of 10,240 × 2,160 pixels.


For those who want to maintain a minimalist and customized aesthetic, this screen display also comes with two 10W speakers on the back of the screen, and has a base that allows users to easily adjust the height of this display.


The LG 40U990A-W screen display seems to be introduced specifically for the Japanese market for now, and is sold for 252,780 yen (~RM7242).
